A Gay Anthem from Jamie Foxx?
16Jan09

Apparently, Jamie Foxx dedicated “I Don’t Need It” from his latest release, Intuition, to his huge gay fan base. He talked about it on his radio show, Jamie Foxx Presents The Foxxhole. Unfortunately, I cannot find a clip of him talking about it but it was funny.
I think it is really cool of Mr. Foxx. When a man is secure in his sexuality, he does not have to worry about what people think. It is particularly refreshing to see a Black man doing this in a community that can be so homophobic at times. So big ups to him for this one. It also does not hurt that it is a hot dance song. You can listen to the track HERE.
Note: You must sign up to imeem.com in order to hear the song. Don’t worry, it’s free!

so are other communities not homophobic either? Last time I checked homophobia was pretty mainstream in contemporary American culture which should be just as unacceptable.
Homophobia is everywhere and of course, it runs within other communities. However, I do believe that homosexuality is not really expressed in the Black community that much at all, in regards to open acceptance. It’s starting to blossom now but it is still rather taboo. That’s why I believe there are so many Black men on the DL. I could go onto the definition of masculinity and how that goes back to enslavement and how that connects to homophobia in the Black community, especially with Black men, but that would be me writing a paper. lol But I will say that I do agree that homophobia is unacceptable no matter which community the person is in. And I do appreciate your comment and taking the time to check out my blog!
I remember before Moulan Rouge he had a stand up routine that was totally Gay Hating in the extreme. I can’t find it now but, it was super hateful. Then when he did Moulan Rouge, he all of a sudden was all cool with gay people. So when the money was there, he could have a change of heart?
Anyway, I have never supported him after that. I think he’s a phony,
