Ms. Brandy Norwood is arguably one of the most underrated popular R&B artists in our generation. She has been a constant in the sometimes fickle music world with solid album after solid album. I’ve been a fan of hers since I Wanna Be Down, learning how to do the signature dance move from that video. I think one of her best music abilities is her vocal arrangements. They are truly sick. If you haven’t already, pay close attention to her background vocals on her last two records and you’ll see what I mean. She is a true talent that should be recognized for her influence over the music game. To show some love and support for B Rocka, I created and updated a playlist of my favorite songs including her brand new single, Right Here (Departed) and the unreleased song, List. Enjoy!

To understand Brandy is to know REAL music. If you sing or just love and appreciate music then you must be a Brandy fan. Her voice is unique. Her vocals are sick. People always compare her to other “artist” but there is no comparison. Just flip open her CD covers and read: Artist – Brandy; Song Writter – Brandy; Background Vocals – Brandy. Do you know how much talent is required to sing your own background? Name another vocalist who does that. Not even Mariah does her own background vocals. Brandy is music. You know she’s talented when she can get the King of Pop to lend his vocals on a track (It’s Not Worth It). Somewhere in the 21st century we lost touch with REAL music. It was replaced with gimmick artist, one hit wonders and oh yeah, let’s not forget that wack ass finger snappin’ and humongous white t-shirts. I for one am glad to see that the queen is back. However, I don’t think she’s releasing the right single “Departed”. Hands down it should be “List”. That song makes a statement. Nevertheless, she’s still #1 and I wish her all the best on her return.
